I have created this one-of-a-kind 1920s inspired flapper headpiece, or headband, using a 1900-1920 dress ornament, adding elastic for a comfortable and flexible fit for the average head size of 22", ( + - ).
This can be worn low across the forehead, a la Theda Bara, for that silent film star drama, or higher up in the hair for a more contemporary look. Though not an original 20s headband, this has all the aura and panache of the real thing. The micro beading and metallic thread work is breathtaking.
The bead colors include pink, blue, palest mint green and hematite. The metallic thread is a soft pewter. The piece measures 12 1/2" x just over 3" at the center.
Would make a delightful alternative headpiece for the adventurous bride, non ?
